Advancing the field

Dr. Ehtesham is not only a busy and accomplished clinical neurosurgeon but has also dedicated a significant portion of his career to advancing the field of Neurosurgery by engaging in cutting-edge scientific research.

 

He continues to maintain an active research program, which is aimed at developing new treatment methods for some of the most dangerous neurosurgical conditions including brain aneurysms and brain tumors.  He has authored over 100 scientific publications, abstracts, and book chapters.

Esteemed researcher

Dr. Ehtesham’s significant research contributions were recognized by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (two of the most important neurosurgical organizations in the world) who awarded him the Young Investigator Award. He has previously served as Director of the Neurosurgical Oncology Research Laboratory at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Ehtesham has been the recipient of approximately $2 million of funding from the National Institutes of Health in support of his research activities.
 
Dr. Ehtesham brings the same passion to his research that he brings to his  clinical and surgical practice:
